Tumor Tissue Fragments Cryopreserved Alive

The technique of cryopreservation involves rapidly cooling and storing tumor fragments at an ultra-low temperature of -196°C in liquid nitrogen. By doing so, all biological activity within the tissue is suspended, rendering the cells dormant, while preserving the tissue's structure and functionality for an extended period. Upon thawing, the cells can be reactivated and used for further research.

Dissociated Cancer Cells Cryopreserved Alive (viable, not flash frozen)

The process involves cutting the tumor tissue into small pieces, adding enzymes to the tissue to break down the extracellular matrix, and then filtering the mixture to obtain a cell suspension. This method allows researchers to obtain large numbers of viable cells. Our team has extensive experience in enzymatic digestion.

Flash-Frozen Tumor Tissue Fragments

These methods of tissue preservation maintain chemical physiology and structural integrity respectively, permitting long-term storage without degradation. We provide flash frozen from pathology verified diseased tissue from an extensive range of indications and tissue types. Flash frozen tissue specimens are frozen within minutes of resection, then moved to -196 °C for long term storage

Tumor FFPE Blocks and Slides (formalin fixed paraffin embedded)

FFPE specimens are sections of fresh tissue which have been fixed in formalin and embedded within a paraffin block, which provides support and stability for the tissue during sectioning. Once the tissue is embedded, it can be stored at room temperature for long periods, making it an ideal option for archiving specimens.

PBMC’s (from whole blood-pre surgery)

Processing PBMCs from blood involves collecting blood into a tube with anticoagulant, diluting it with a salt solution, and layering it on top of a density gradient medium in a new tube. After centrifugation, the PBMCs will separate from red blood cells and form a white layer above the density gradient medium.

Serum (from whole blood-pre surgery)

Plasma is removed by allowing it to clot and then centrifuging it to separate the serum. The serum, which contains a variety of proteins, antibodies, hormones, and other molecules, is then collected and frozen for storage. Freezing serum can preserve its biological activity for extended periods.

Processing plasma from blood involves collecting the liquid component of blood after adding an anticoagulant to prevent clotting. The collected plasma is then centrifuged to remove any remaining cells and stored. Frozen plasma can be used in clinical and research settings for diagnosing and monitoring diseases, testing for the presence of specific proteins or molecules, and developing new treatments and vaccines.

Multiple Formats Available from The Same Donor

We offer a comprehensive range of specimens, including multiple formats from the same donor. These formats may include viable tissue and/or cells that have been cryopreserved or flash frozen, as well as paraffin-embedded specimens and blood samples such as PBMC and/or serum and/or plasma. By providing multiple formats for the same patient, researchers can ensure that they have a diverse range of specimens to work with, allowing for a more thorough analysis of their research question.

Most tissue samples are accompanied by comprehensive clinical and pathological data, providing researchers with valuable insights into the patient's medical history and condition.
